… to post during skiing earlier this year! Came to my mind to post today when I found it in the draft folder and as we were traveling close to the Bolivian border at 3.500 m that is close to 11.500 ft and well it didn’t cause Acute mountain sickness (AMS) or puna (apunamiento) as it is called in that area, but make me feel a bit more slow moving as usual! When skiing with friends in the area of […]
Today I was remembering a request I got some time ago by a dear follower of my blog. This request was about a new riddle! So here we go! Ana & Claudia (and Fernando as well if listening) : both of you please keep muted! Hope this wasn’t too much of a hint! 😉 What is this? It is always related to the frame of reference! 🙂 The picture is of the “Vertical Garden” by Patrick Blanc at Caixa Forum […]
When skiing with friends in the area of Breckenrdige, CO, I became aware of the impact of the altitude has on humans. The town itself is located on 2,926 m / 9,600 ft the peak of the mountains you go from up to 4,000 m / 13,150 ft but the body doesn’t cares if metric or imperial measured altitude anyway 😉 Combined with jetlag this was slowing me down, caused some headache and tiredness. It has gone after some days, […]
Another pleasing fact during my travel in Vietnam was the availability of fresh fruit and veggies where ever you go! Of course the markets offer the biggest variety at one place, anyway you can get fresh stuff mostly everywhere and it is fresh, not travelled around half of the globe and get only ripe while in transit. Must confess I am really jealous of these countries with so much fresh and tasty things to eat!
Just arrived back to Hanoi from a trip to Halong Bay. It was a wonderful trip and not only the scenic view of the small islands which are an United Nations World Heritage, but the drive from Hanoi to Halong Bay itself. When leaving the city of Hanoi you never really leave it, it’s becoming more or less dense populated and the number of buildings along the route changes. Halong Bay itself is a busy touristic place, at land as […]
Today while walking along the remains of an old castle I found this little flowers near the trail. Its name is Pulsatilla vulgaris (pasque flower, pasqueflower, common pasque flower, Dane’s blood). Isn’t nature gorgeous? I wonder what plant and flowers I will find during my stay at Jiaxing. Any ideas?
